Note from Bob:
Hi all, the below April 12th "caravan" was postponed by the Chamber due to inclement weather in Clewiston today. They cannot go out in the bus to the sugar cane fields in the rain. We have rescheduled this to April 16, 2018. Everything remains the same but the time. Please arrive no later than 7:30 a.m. Please respond to me by March 16, 2018 if you plan on going with your name and who is going. I also need a telephone number to contact you in the event of another cancellation.
If I do not receive this info, I will return your email to you and you will not be on the list until I receive the info.

ORIGINAL NOTE BELOW:
We have an exciting, different type of "caravan" that doesn't require you driving your vehicle. We will be going on a Raisin' Cane Tour on April 16th. This is an all day event. The tour will begin at Coralwood Center (2301 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33990) where we will begin boarding the bus at 7:30 a.m. Once boarded, we will be driven to Clewiston, FL (about a 1 1/2 hour ride). Once there we will have an informative tour of Florida’s historical agricultural town of Clewiston, including the Clewiston Historical Museum, US Sugar Corp and their state of the art facilities, the Herbert Hoover Dike, Lake Okeechobee and other sites unique to the area. This experience will show you how sugarcane, sweet corn and oranges are grown, harvested, and processed. While there, we will view the latest in sustainable farming techniques as well as journey to the Clewiston sugar mill, sugar refinery and citrus juice plant. After the tour, we will be driven back to the Coralwood Center between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
This is a complimentary tour limited to 50 people. A complimentary lunch will also be included.
CLOSED TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED
Since the tour and lunch are complimentary, I will be collecting $4.00 per person Prior to boarding the bus for a tip for the bus driver and waitress. I feel this is only fair.
Please let me know if you will be attending this special caravan. As the number is limited, it will be on a first come basis. If more than 50 people are interested, I will do a waiting list in the event someone cancels.
Please respond to me no later than April 16, 2018 if you will be attending.
When responding, please ensure you give me your cell number and who is attending.
At this time, this is closed to only club members.
If anyone is interested after the return, we can decide if we want to go to dinner.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
